The community of Perry County, Pennsylvania, is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Sebastian Long, a beloved 13-year-old student and 8th grader at West Perry Middle School, who passed away unexpectedly on December 2, 2025. Sebastian’s passing has left his family, friends, teammates, teachers, and neighbors in deep sorrow, struggling to comprehend the loss of a young life filled with promise, kindness, and joy.
Born on August 5, Sebastian was known as a bright, warm, and spirited young man who touched countless lives in his short time. For the past seven years, he was an active part of the West Perry Midget Football Association (WPMFA), a community that became a second family to him. Through practices, games, and shared memories, Sebastian built friendships that will be remembered with love and reverence. His dedication, enthusiasm, and heart on and off the field made him a cherished member of the team and a young person admired by many.
Sebastian’s parents, Bob and Melanie (Mel) Jamison, have long been devoted members of the WPMFA community, volunteering countless hours in support of the organization and its families. They have given so much love, time, and care to others—acts of generosity now echoed back to them as the community comes together to support them in their unimaginable grief.
In this time of profound heartbreak, a fundraiser has been organized to help ease the burden of medical and funeral expenses for the Jamison family. Their friends and supporters hope to offer comfort through both compassion and practical assistance, honoring Sebastian’s memory by surrounding his parents with love. Any contribution—no matter the size—means more than words can express during such a painful moment. Donations may also be made via Venmo at @Mommadukes68, as shared by the organizers.
The family kindly asks for time and space to grieve this unimaginable loss. Those with questions or who wish to help further are encouraged to reach out to Cheri or the organizer directly.
Sebastian Long will be remembered for his bright spirit, his dedication, his kindness, and the joy he brought into the lives of those around him. His absence is felt deeply, and his memory will forever live in the hearts of his family, friends, teammates, and the entire West Perry community.
May he be held in everlasting peace, and may his loved ones find strength, comfort, and support in the love that surrounds them.
