The music community in Regina, across Saskatchewan, and beyond is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Adrienne Mahoney, whose radiant spirit, passion, and remarkable strength left an unforgettable mark on everyone who knew her. Adrienne passed away after a courageous battle with Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (EGPA)—a rare autoimmune disease that ultimately led to severe complications with her heart.
Adrienne’s diagnosis began a long and unimaginable journey. Despite multiple open-heart surgeries and extensive time in the ICU at the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute in Edmonton, she faced every challenge with resilience and grace. She even underwent a heart transplant, fighting fiercely to reclaim moments of life, love, and music. To those around her, it became clear that Adrienne lived each day with intention—embracing joy wherever she found it and inspiring others to do the same.
Adrienne was known as a bright, positive, and radiant soul, especially within the music scene. She poured her passion into every performance and into every venue she entered—from the Starlite Room to the countless stages where she uplifted fellow musicians. Her presence was magnetic: warm, encouraging, and full of life. Friends describe her as “a bright shining light,” an incredible player, and a pillar of the community whose spirit brought people together effortlessly.
Her friends and bandmates express their grief with profound love:
“Our Adrienne, our friend, our soulsister. You knew only love, and your spirit connected us all wherever you went. The world feels emptier without you, yet the sunrises and sunsets now burn a little brighter with you among them. You taught us how to live with heart and purpose. As a band, we were a family of five—and we will always be five. Your burning spirit is now amongst the universe. You are our lifeblood. We love you with all our hearts. Adrienne Mahoney forever.”
Though her life was far too short, Adrienne leaves behind a legacy of compassion, musicianship, and unshakeable courage. May her soul rest among the stars—brilliant, everlasting, and forever remembered by all who had the honor of knowing her.
