Rick May Novi, MI Death, Obituary

The community of Novi, Michigan, is mourning the loss of Richard C. “Rick” May, who passed away on December 1, 2025, at the age of 42. Born on May 19, 1983, in Dearborn, Rick lived a life defined by devotion—to his family, to his work, and to the people and communities he cared so deeply for.

Rick was the beloved husband of Jorgia Basner-May and the proud, devoted father of Kamryn and Jameson May, who were truly the center of his universe. He was the cherished son of Diane (Ron) Peters and Rick (Susan) May, and the loving brother of Kristine (Dave) Chriss, Monica (Alex) Wolff, and Raymond Peters. To his extended family, friends, and colleagues, Rick will forever be remembered for his quick wit, sharp intelligence, and unfailing loyalty.

Professionally, Rick thrived as a Salesforce Consultant and Technical Architect, respected for his depth of knowledge, problem-solving ability, and genuine enthusiasm for every project he undertook. His academic achievements—a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University and an MBA from Wayne State University—reflected his lifelong commitment to learning, growth, and excellence.

Outside of work, Rick embraced life with energy and heart. He was a proud member of the Wolverine Dart Association, where he shared laughter, camaraderie, and the playful spirit of his team, Projectile Dysfunction. He also devoted his time to the Novi Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (SEPAC), advocating for students and families with compassion, understanding, and a deep desire to make a meaningful difference.

Rick’s passing leaves a profound void in the lives of all who knew and loved him. His humor, kindness, and unwavering dedication to the people he cared about will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.

Visitation will be held at O’Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life begins at 2:00 p.m. In honor of Rick’s alma maters and his Spartan pride, the family kindly requests that guests wear green and white.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the family.

Rick May will be remembered with gratitude, love, and enduring respect. May his memory be a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
